- Are you sure that they had their sound card input device set to Microphone
- and that all the appropriate volume settings were enabled. Initially, I
- (and several others) had this problem. My sound card (Sound Blaster Pro)
- initially sets the attenuated line-in signal as the input source, which
- of course must be changed (with the Mixer software, for example) in order
- for IVC to use the mic.

- There is a simple windows program available that takes either an IP
- and returns the name or takes the name and returns the IP address. It
- is called Window Sockets Host written by Andy H. Coates. You can find
- it at ftp.cica.indiana.edu in /pub/pc/win3/uploads/wshost.zip.

- Could any one suggest a good public domain/shareware program for use with
- Windows 3.1 that works with ppp and/or slip protocols. Also could any one
- inform me of an ftp site that might have this file.

- Thanks

- Poke around on ftp.netmanage.com for their demo stuff. Also, grab a
- copy of THE INTERNET STARTER KIT FOR WINDOWS (Engst, Low, Simons) from
- Hayden Books, which has a disk included, as well as a provider's discount
- coupon.
